Community Development Initiative

Community Development Initiative (CDI) was established in 1995 as not-for-profit, community organisation to improve life chances of marginalised groups and to facilitate access to mainstream education, jobs, volunteering and other life opportunities.

The organisation targets local people who are:

• unemployed
• low waged
• single parents
• ethnic minority members

We offer advice, guidance and learning opportunities to increase knowledge, skills and build confidence of our clients so that they can access mainstream services and play a full role in economic and social life of their community.

Working in partnership with mainstream Adult learning providers, CDI has developed innovative training packages tailored to the needs of our clients. This includes:

• Mental Health – from Black Minority Ethnicity perspectives
